Enclose to increase square footage or keep open to commune with nature is the question. For Gary, the answer was easy and it paid off. According to a recent appraisal, the value of his home increased by ~20%. With the three patios to spare, Gary decided to enclose two– expanding the living space off the great room and the master bedroom.
There’s a seamless flow from the great room as the French doors open up to the converted area. The craftsmanship leaves no indication that it was once an open deck. The new wood floors blend nicely with the original floors and the room’s décor is consistent with the home’s overall coziness and warmth. Since the deck on the main floor is now closed, Gary uses the lower level patio for grilling and the space for outdoor living. Hats off to Gary for a beautiful and smart renovation.
